Supporting organizations in developing Social Responsibility policies

Since 2000, I have dedicated my professional life to integrating gender equality within organizations. I have served this objective through various activities, including research, gender audit and assessment, policy-making, institutional building, and training development, particularly in the framework of international cooperation projects. I was fortunate to have a job that made sense to me.
Along the way, I was even luckier to survive cancer. Like many who have gone through this, it made me think about what I wanted to dedicate the rest of my life to.
It occurred to me that advancing gender equality was too narrow to contribute to what I consider to be the common good. I wanted to seek a more profound transformation of our society by promoting Corporate Social Responsibility.
This personal journey led me to return to school at HEG Genève. If my previous experience had equipped me with transversal skills such as project management, policy analysis, strategic planning, or stakeholder engagement, I needed to gain CSR-related technical knowledge beyond gender and diversity to reorient myself in this area.
Through my Diploma of Advanced Studies in Sustainability Management, I acquired knowledge on ISO 26000, carbon footprint assessments, ESG reporting and sustainable procurement. After completing it, I chose to specialize in assisting non-profit organizations in developing social responsibility policies.
I made this choice for two reasons. Firstly, during two decades, I had the chance to accumulate significant experience in the global development sector. I didn't want to "waste" it. Secondly, I noticed that not-for-profit organizations only sometimes apply to themselves the principles they preach to others, which leads to delegitimization of their mission, however noble and necessary it may be.
Helping non-profits develop and implement social responsibility policies is a way of preserving their legitimacy and effectiveness, thus contributing, in my small way, to building a better world, which is what we all need.
You are part of a not-for-profit organization and have been thinking for some time that developing a CSR policy might make sense and strengthen your positive impact. I could be the guy you need to get the ball rolling.
